Archetype Singapore: Elevating Acoustic Performance with Polyester Solutions

Optimizing Sound Environments at Archetype Singapore

Archetype Singapore, formerly known as Text100, is a leader in managing cross-border integrated marketing programs across the Asia Pacific and Latin America. To support their growing needs for high-quality video production, Archetype collaborated with MRID Pte Ltd and acoustic contractor Aural-Aid Pte Ltd to improve the acoustic environment of their video editing suite. This project involved the installation of Fabrix™ and Polyx™ polyester acoustic panels, chosen for their ability to reduce reverberation and enhance sound quality. Beyond their functional benefits, these panels underscore Archetype’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.

Enhancing Acoustic Quality in Professional Settings

Reducing Reverberation for Clearer Sound
In a professional setting like Archetype’s video editing suite, acoustic quality is paramount. Sound reverberation can distort audio, making it difficult to produce high-quality video content. To address this issue, Archetype installed 9mm polyester panels on the sliding panels in front of the existing windows. These polyester panels effectively absorb sound waves, reducing echoes and improving sound clarity. By minimizing reverberation, the Fabrix™ and Polyx™ panels ensure that audio recordings are clear, enhancing the overall quality of video production².

Sustainable Choices in Acoustic Design

Commitment to Eco-Friendly Materials
Polyester acoustic panels, like Fabrix™ and Polyx™, are increasingly recognized for their sustainability benefits. These panels are made from high-density polyester fibers, often sourced from recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles. This approach reduces the need for virgin materials, lowers energy consumption in production, and diverts waste from landfills³. By selecting recycled polyester panels, Archetype demonstrates a commitment to environmental responsibility, aligning with broader global efforts to promote sustainable building practices.

Recyclability and Durability
One of the standout features of polyester acoustic panels is their recyclability. At the end of their lifecycle, these panels can be repurposed or recycled, contributing to circular economy principles. Moreover, polyester panels are known for their durability and longevity, offering sustained acoustic performance with minimal maintenance. This durability not only reduces the frequency of replacements but also minimizes the associated environmental impact⁴.

Social Responsibility and Employee Well-Being

Creating Healthier Work Environments
Archetype’s choice to install low-VOC (volatile organic compounds) polyester panels also highlights their dedication to social responsibility and employee well-being. These panels do not emit harmful chemicals, ensuring a healthier indoor environment for employees. Improved air quality reduces the risk of health issues associated with poor indoor environments, supporting a healthier, more productive workplace⁵.

Innovative Acoustic Solutions and Strategic Installation

Precision in Acoustic Panel Placement
The installation of Fabrix™ and Polyx™ panels by Aural-Aid Pte Ltd was meticulously planned to optimize acoustic performance. Placed strategically on sliding panels in front of the windows, the polyester panels effectively mitigate unwanted sound reflections. This thoughtful approach ensures that every element of the acoustic design contributes to a balanced sound environment, crucial for high-quality video production and day-to-day operations at Archetype⁶.
