Case Study: Polyester Acoustic Panels for Video Editing Suite

Role of Military Reconnaissance

Archetype, formerly known as Text100, is a global agency working across the field to build brands that attract, brands that offer a unique position and brands that effect real change in the world. The headquarters in SIngapore required a space that not only fosters creativity but also ensures clarity in communication, especially in their video editing suite.

Acoustics Treatment

Integration of Fabrix™ and Polyx™ Panels
Aural-Aid, renowned for its expertise in acoustic solutions, was nominated to supply and install both Fabrix™ and Polyx™ panels. The integration of these materials was aimed at optimizing the acoustic quality of the space, ensuring that it met the functional and aesthetic needs of Archetype.

Polyester Panels for Sound Management
In the video editing suite, a critical area for sound control, 9mm polyester panels were installed onto the sliding panels in front of the existing windows. This strategic placement of Polyx™ panels played a significant role in reducing reverberations, enhancing the auditory experience in the suite. The choice of polyester, known for its sound-absorbing properties, was ideal for addressing the acoustic challenges in this space¹.

Acoustic and Aesthetic Benefits

Enhancing Speech Clarity
The primary aim of this installation was to improve speech clarity and reduce background noise in the video editing suite. The polyester panels effectively absorbed unwanted sound, making the suite more conducive for video editing tasks that require high levels of concentration and precision².

Aesthetic Integration
Beyond their functional role, the panels complemented the modern and sleek design of Archetype’s office. The aesthetic appeal of the panels aligned with the contemporary look and feel of the workspace, subtly blending into the overall interior design³.

Sustainability and Technical Aspects

Eco-Friendly Material Choice
Reflecting a commitment to sustainability, the use of eco-friendly materials like Polyx™ panels, often containing recycled content, was a conscious choice. This approach not only improved the acoustic environment but also aligned with the broader environmental objectives of the company⁴.

Precision in Installation
The installation process, particularly the integration of panels onto sliding window panels, required precision and expertise. Aural-Aid’s proficiency in handling and installing these specialized materials was crucial in achieving the desired acoustic and aesthetic outcomes⁵.

Improved Room Acoustics

The project at Archetype, Singapore, serves as a resounding affirmation of the impact that expertly crafted acoustic solutions can have within professional settings. The collaborative efforts of Aural-Aid in providing the acoustic installations, along with the sophisticated design orchestrated by MRID, were instrumental in elevating both the functionality and visual appeal of the workspace.
